Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need experience driving a UTV?

    Not at all! No prior experience is required—our guides provide full instructions and safety gear before you hit the trail. Drivers must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license.

  • How difficult is the hike to The Great Chamber?

    The hike is short but steep, requiring a climb up a soft sand dune. It’s moderate in difficulty, and we take breaks as needed. The view at the top makes it absolutely worth it!

  • What should I bring?

    Wear closed-toe shoes (required for drivers) and comfortable hiking clothes. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and extra water, especially in warm weather. We provide helmets, goggles, and a cooler with cold water.

  • How big are the groups, and can I book a private tour?

    The tour is small-group based, with a max of 3 UTVs plus a guide (around 12 people total). If you’d like a private experience, give us a call—we offer private tour upgrades!

  • When and where does the tour start?

    Tours run year-round, Monday–Saturday (closed Sundays). Meet at Expedition Kanab Headquarters, and arrive 30 minutes before departure for check-in and gear-up. Start times adjust seasonally for the best experience.

Great Chamber Excursion

We had already been to Peekaboo Canyon, so we just did the Great Chamber excursion. It had rained so the ATV trails were somewhat washed out, still a lot of standing water. So I opted not to drive an ATV that day. We went with Josh and he was great. He drove us through the trails with care not to get us wet and muddy or stuck.
